Statement From Communities In Schools of Mid-America:

In all our lives, the time comes to take a stand for what is right.  We are in such a time now after the horrific and unthinkable death of George Floyd.  And, while the specific brutality of his death stunned us all, it is also only the latest act of violence toward a black person.

As an organization that serves, employs, and partners with thousands of people of color in multiple states, Communities In Schools of Mid-America redoubles its commitment to stand against racism and calls for safety, equality, and opportunity for all, and most particularly, for the black community.  We see the racism in our institutions and in the individual lives so profoundly affected by it.  It is unacceptable.  We can, should, and must do better.

Join us in this important work.  It will not be easy, but it is the most needed work we will ever do.
