Kelly Stanford is Chief Program Officer for CIS of Mid-America and has been with the organization since 2013. She holds a B.A. in English and history from Texas A & I University, along with an M.Ed. in Education Administration from Angelo State University. She brings many layers of experience to CIS of Mid-America, including teaching at alternative schools in Texas, school and district leadership at both the director and assistant superintendent level in Texas and Colorado, and, most recently, five years as the Executive Director of Routt County United Way in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She is a 2017 graduate of the Allstate Foundation’s Greater Good Non-profit Leader’s Program in conjunction with the Kellogg School of Management’s Center for Non-profit Management at Northwestern University and serves on the Kansas Department of Education’s ESSA Advisory Council.
Kelly and her husband Scott, a newspaper publisher, make their home in Lawrence, KS. They have two daughters; Libby, a reporter in Charleston, South Carolina, and Maggie, a sales enablement manager with a technology firm in Washington D.C.
