Communities In Schools (CIS) National is proud to partner with Communities In Schools of Mid-America on a special series of their podcast, Letters from the Lunchroom hosted by their Director of Communications, Victoria Partridge. During this series, we will talk to network leaders and people who have a relationship with CIS. Our collaborative podcast series will happen throughout 2021, starting with a special episode this month featuring our National President and CEO Rey Saldaña.
CIS of Mid-America celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2020. It was established as CIS of Kansas in 1995 and, in 2014, became the first CIS state office to establish regional affiliates embedded in our 501(c)3. What began as a statewide network in 1995 serving communities across the state of Kansas now also serves communities in Iowa, Oklahoma, and Missouri. The CIS of Mid-America network currently provides services in 57 schools to more than 30,000 students each year by placing individuals directly inside the schools to work with students.

Be on the lookout for additional episodes. But in the meantime, you can listen to previous episodes of Letters from the Lunchroom here and wherever you get your podcasts.
