Neta’s financial career began by assisting people with home loans. During that time she met with many widows and widowers who were opening their safety deposit boxes after the death of a spouse, and they knew nothing of the contents. She often heard the phrase, “if I had only known”. She knew she wanted to help and that was the inspiration for her to transition to a financial advisor role.
Neta began her advisor career with Beecroft, Cole & Co. in Topeka, where she developed invaluable fundamental investment knowledge. Beecroft, Cole & Co. was acquired by Piper Jaffray, Inc., where she spent many years. Following a brief time at Morgan Stanley, she joined the Topeka office of Wachovia Securities as a branch manager in 2006, which is now Wells Fargo Advisors. She served as branch manager until 2017, when she decided to relinquish her managerial role and focus solely on serving her clients.
In 1987, Neta earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certificate by completing an approved educational program, passing a rigorous examination, and meeting stringent experience requirements.
Previously, she has been President of the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority, Chairman of the Endowment Board of Topeka Civic Theatre, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of the founders of the Leadership Kansas program, and a member of the initial Board of Trustees.
Originally from Oberlin, Kansas, Neta has resided in Topeka for more than 50 years. She spends her free time with her husband, Allen, a retired attorney, and their combined three children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. It has been a special pleasure and privilege to have her daughter, Jamie Botts, First Vice President-Investment Officer, and her grandson, Brandon Botts, Financial Advisor, as her business partners. She feels being a multi-generational team brings unique perspective and opportunities for our clients.
