Sophie Archuleta has been with CIS of Mid-America for eight years and is currently the Director of Special Programs. She manages the AmeriCorps program, oversees the organization’s alumni programming, and has recently ventured into innovative program development. Sophie’s main passion is program development and she jumps at any opportunity to cultivate new programs or to take existing programs from good to great! During Sophie’s time with the agency, she has been successful in designing and developing multiple programs that have resulted in the creation of new positions within the agency as well as mentoring AmeriCorps members who have been hired by the agency upon the completion of their service. As a former AmeriCorps member herself, Sophie takes pride in mentoring the next generation of non-profit leaders. In her free time, Sophie likes to turn on her favorite podcast, work on her art, and tend to her 40+ plants. Whether it is painting watercolors of pint-sized plants, constructing succulents out of paper, or building miniatures, Sophie enjoys breaking out the glue gun, dusting off her brushes, and getting creative.
