Leslie Tanyan

Leslie Tanyan, MBA, MLS, received her Master’s in Indigenous People’s Law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and her MBA in Accounting from Oklahoma Christian University. Ms. Tanyan has over 13 years’ experience in Indian Gaming for gaming regulatory agencies. She has served as an Executive Director/Chief Gaming Regulator, former gaming commissioner for the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma and served as a tribal leader for the Iowa Tribe. In addition, Ms. Tanyan is a former Southern Plains Delegate for the National Indian Gaming Association and Class II Gaming Subcommittee member. Ms. Tanyan brings a wealth of experience in the areas of Indian gaming, Tribal administration and financial services. Further, Ms. Tanyan has experience in the areas of accounting, budget preparation and forecasting. She has worked in the public and private sector as an accountant. Ms. Tanyan was a participant in many Government to Government consultations representing the Iowa Tribe, involved in the planning and development of the of the expansion at the existing Cimarron Casino, involved in the opening a “Ioway casino” and another project opening with the Ioway travel plaza.

Ms. Tanyan serves on several boards, including, the Moore Public Schools Title VI/JOM Parent Board. She is very active with this committee and serves as the Moore JOM Dance Troupe Coordinator and Moore JOM Powwow Chair. Her goal is to share the Native American culture with the Moore Public School District and surrounding community.
